🌕 a pause on the path

Hey friends :)

This Capricorn Full Moon arrives like a deep breath after a long climb, offering us a moment to pause and ask: Is this still my mountain to summit?

As I write this, I’ve got Chance Peña’s The Mountain Is You playing in the background. It takes me back to a very real mountain I climbed with my dad when I was younger. We were hiking a route I’d been waiting to get to, and I’d just reached the farthest point I'd ever been. I felt proud and strong…that is until I looked up and saw my dad beginning to scale a steep section with wooden ladders bolted into the rock. Something in me shut down. My body flooded with panic. My throat felt like it dropped straight out of me, and I couldn’t breathe. I pressed my back to the mountain, let my knees collapse, and cried.

When my dad came back down. He didn’t push. He told me it was okay not to keep going, even though we were so close to the top, and he assured me that I was brave for knowing when to stop. Eventually, my breath came back, and I decided that my cozy little seat in the middle of the path was far enough for me that day. He continued to the summit. I stayed behind, and we both left feeling proud.

He climbed his mountain, and I climbed mine.

That moment, that choice, to pause instead of push, holds the energy I’ve been reflecting on of this Full Moon.

Capricorn is often associated with long-term goals, discipline, and structures, but it's also about limits. About choosing sustainable progress over burnout, choosing rest over productivity.

oh hi :) it would mean so much to me if you shared this post with your friends.

Maybe it’s been a while, and it’s time you checked in with yourself mid-climb and asked: Do I still want to go this way? Is this path still mine?

This Full Moon highlights the delicate balance between emotional regulation and practical achievement. It invites us to slow down long enough to hear our inner guidance and listen to what we need. To notice where we’re stretched too thin. To remember that resting doesn’t mean you’ve stepped off the path — it means you’re caring for the one walking it.

Let this Full Moon be a time of noticing. Of noticing where you're carrying weight that no longer belongs to you. Of noticing what you're building, perhaps out of love, perhaps out of habit, and whether it still aligns with who you're becoming.

You don’t need a big ceremony. The pause itself is the ritual.

Until next time,
